About cloud migration
Migration horror stories almost all share one feature: a single cutover weekend with no way back. Handled in phases with rollback at each stage, migration is routine engineering work.
Assessment before any movement
We inventory applications, dependencies, data volumes, and compliance constraints first. That inventory determines the sequence — which systems move first, which move together, and which should not move at all.
Lift-and-shift versus re-architecture
Moving a workload unchanged is faster and lower risk, but carries existing inefficiencies into an environment where they cost more. Re-architecting captures cloud economics but takes longer. We usually recommend a mix: lift-and-shift to exit the datacentre, then optimise selectively once running.
Data migration and parallel running
Data is the difficult part, especially with large volumes or strict downtime limits. We use replication and parallel running so the new environment is proven under real load before traffic moves, and rollback remains available throughout.
What the engagement includes
Migration assessment
Application, dependency, data, and compliance inventory.
Phased migration plan
Sequenced waves with rollback criteria per wave.
Data migration & replication
Validated transfer with reconciliation and parallel running.
Post-migration optimisation
Right-sizing and re-architecture once workloads are stable.
What you get
The measurable results this service is accountable for.
- Phased migration with rollback at every stage
- Dependencies mapped before anything moves
- Parallel running proves the target under real load
- Sensible mix of lift-and-shift and re-architecture
- Post-migration optimisation once stable
A process without surprises
Clear checkpoints at every stage, so you always know what is shipping and when.
- 1
Discovery & scoping
We map requirements, users, integrations, and constraints, then agree scope and a fixed quote before work starts.
- 2
Architecture & design
Technical architecture and user flows are agreed and prototyped before implementation begins.
- 3
Build & review
Development in reviewable increments, with a staging environment you can see and comment on throughout.
- 4
Launch & support
Performance and security checks, documented handover, deployment, and an agreed support window after go-live.
What is included at each tier
Engagements scale with your stage. Every tier includes everything below it.
| What's included | Starter | Growth | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|
| Migration assessment & inventory | Included | Included | Included |
| Phased migration plan | Included | Included | Included |
| Migration execution | Not included | Included | Included |

Sectors we work in
We migrate in phases with rollback available at every stage, which is what separates routine migrations from the disaster stories.
